March Signature Drink of the Month: The Pear Tree
Signature Drink of the Month : The Pear Tree
Spring has officially sprung. Today. And what better way to usher in a new season of sunshine and weddings than to start a new feature for our blog: Signature Drink of the Month. Each month La Fete will be bringing you fresh, unique, and seasonally appropriate ideas for signature drinks for your many celebrations.
This March, after a long cold winter, I crave light, refreshing and colorful fresh fruit. Let’s go a step further and to incorporate these ingredients into a signature cocktail perfect for your spring wedding!
St. Germain is a liqueur made from the elder flower, picked fresh in the French Alps. It has a wonderful flavor which is so unique and difficult to describe. According to the creators, it is “Neither passionfruit nor pear, grapefruit nor lemon, the sublime taste of St-Germain hints at each of these and yet none of them exactly. It is a flavor as subtle and delicate as it is captivating. A little like asking a hummingbird to describe the flavor of its favorite nectar. Très curieux indeed, n’est-ce pas?”
Not convinced yet? Well I am begging you, the next time you are out and about and looking for a unique cocktail to try (How many vodka sodas can a girl drink, right?), ask your bartender if they carry St. Germain. You will not be disappointed.
Below is a recipe for a delicious and delicate signature cocktail for your special event: The Pear Tree.
1 1/2 parts St.-Germain
1 1/2 parts pear vodka
1/2 part freshly squeezed lime juice
1 dash Angostura Bitters
why haven’t you made me one????????????
