Outdoor & Garden Weddings in Raleigh, Chapel Hill and Durham

With nature as its backdrop, an outdoor event can be so charming!  It can also be muddy, wet, too hot or too cold.  As a planner, my job is to make sure that the comfort of your guests is never sacrificed.  Every bride should take into account those last minute changes in weather that we all experience as North Carolinians, and as long as you have a well thought out back up plan (and your rental company or wedding planner on speed dial!) your wedding should unfold seamlessly, regardless of the forecast.  After all, they say a little rain on your wedding day is good luck!

Luckily, there are a plethora of beautiful outdoor venues and courtyards in the Triangle area and thankfully, many wonderful months of the year we can enjoy those outdoor venues! The Carolina Inn, Duke Gardens, The Raleigh Rose Garden, The NC Museum of Art, The Sutherland and Haywood Hall are a few of my favorites.  With each wonderfully unique venue comes an equally wonderful and unique rain plan!   Some venues will allow for an on-site indoor inclement weather room and some spaces require a tent, while others simply don’t allow tenting.  It is important to know your options prior to booking a space as well as the rules of renting a tent and / or canceling a tent with your local rental company.

Below are some of my favorite images from local outdoor wedding venues!
