When thinking of the perfect drink for celebrating a New Year – the go-to is usually a classic champagne cocktail. With that in mind, I was browsing Martha Stewart Wedding, and this Lavender Champagne cocktail caught my eye. I can especially see this as a fabulous signature drink at a reception where the color palette includes some shades of purple. I think my favorite part of this idea is how totally unique it is!
The recipe can be found here:
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon dried lavender
- 4 bottles (750 mL) dry Champagne or sparkling wine, chilled
- Fresh lavender sprigs, for garnish
Directions:
- Bring sugar and 1/2 cup water to a boil in a saucepan, stirring to dissolve sugar. Stir in dried lavender. Remove from heat. Let cool completely. Strain out lavender. Refrigerate syrup until ready to serve (up to 1 month).
- Pour about 6 ounces Champagne and 1 1/2 teaspoons syrup into each flute. Garnish each with a lavender sprig.
Cheers! Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and a very Happy New Year’s!
