Betty and Freddy celebrated their marriage in a rustic-yet-elegant affair with a mint and pink color palette in the Sarah P. Duke Gardens!

We wanted our cake to be unique, so we went with a mint green frosting, Betty says. The cake was decorated with sugar flowers, gold ribbon, and a Happy Ever After topper.

“We went with light pink and blush-colored flowers with branch accents to go with the rustic theme,” says Betty. “We completed our tablescapes with lots of tealight candles in glass vases, which made the entire room shimmer.”

These simple programs with a lace detail from Minted matched the invitation suite for this rustic-yet-elegant wedding.

Betty and Freddy, who met in law school at Duke University, wanted a venue they felt connected to. Planning a wedding at the school gardens meant opportunities to revisit our old haunts and relive memories of the early days of our relationship, Betty says.

For her own bouquet, the bride chose a bouquet of white hydrangeas and calla lilies mixed with soft pink roses and garden roses.

Pink flowers and mint green bridesmaid dresses tied the wedding’s color scheme together.

The bride chose metallic heels by Jimmy Choo because they made me feel like Cinderella, Betty says.
