Lara + Juice | Duke Chapel & The Cotton Room Wedding

Lara & Juice’s wedding day was so fun! After dating for more than 10 years, this New York couple tied the knot in Durham where they first met and it was a night to remember. Virtually all of their friends and family were coming from out of town, so they took the opportunity to pull out all of the stops for their guests and create a day that was not only the perfect mesh of their personalities, but had a surprise around every corner. From a coat paired with her dress that dropped jaws, to the craziest collection of “flair” items, to an incredible ride to the after party on the famed Shooters busses, this was one for the books.

Lara started off her day at the Washington Duke Inn with her friends and family (and her trusted hairstylist from NY) then headed to Duke Chapel for the ceremony. It was when she put on the long-awaited dress that everyone knew what was to come was going to be incredible. Her friend, one of the owners of the Dee Hutton brand, designed a custom dress that had to be 15 feet long!

After a sweet and personal ceremony, everyone headed over to the Beltline Station at the Cotton Room for cocktail hour. They had lounges by Greenhouse Picker Sisters and Petal & Oak where guests got to mingle and catch up while all the magic was taking place inside. The Cotton Room was transformed by Meristem floral into a colorful oasis that was warm, fun, and full of incredible style. Those florals paired with the most amazing mis-matched china from Southern Vintage in Georgia, CE farm tables, and a seriously tasty family style meal, made for the perfect ambience. Also, her brothers hand-picked and supplied all of the wine for the reception which was such a special treat!

Oh and did I mention the band??? Perfect 10 Band was AWESOME! They kept the party going all night long and kept everyone on the dance floor for hours. They brought the house down and couldn’t have done a better job of creating the most memorable party.

Truly the best part of working with Lara & Juice was after getting to know them throughout the planning process and then finally seeing all of these little details come together into one night that encapsulated their lives. When you see a couple’s family and friends come together to celebrate, it is like getting a flashback into their history and it makes you feel so special that they have chosen you to be a part of that! Truly always an amazing experience to see our couples have so much fun and feel so spellbound by the significance and meaning of the day.
