Jessie + Chris | Haw River Ballroom Wedding

Jessie + Chris were a special couple with a special story behind their ceremony and reception space. The entire family was blessed when the couple decided to keep tradition alive by being the fifth generation to get married at the University Baptist Church in Chapel Hill. The sanctuary brought a new meaning to the couple of not only love, but longevity.

Jessie and her mother Jan came to us with an idea to keep tradition (and fun) throughout the whole planning process.  Jessie + Chris went on their first date at the Haw River Ballroom where Chris showed her around the town which he had recently dug his roots into. The couple loved the vibe that the Haw river set off and wanted to show their guests what this special space could turn into.

We brought an outdoorsy yet sophisticated design to the gorgeous industrial building in little Saxapahaw. With extravagant lighting, hanging structures, river rock place cards taken from the river that runs through the town, we achieved the over-all vibe.

Before dinner, the whole building broke out into square dancing with lessons from a true bluegrass trio. We spun the theme of tradition into a family style feast. After dinner we turned down the lights and let the band take over. This was truly a night to remember!

We hope you enjoy!
